The band are extremely pleased to announce some significant changes to the Bass team, welcoming both Matt George and Lee Blankley to Eb & Bb Bass respectively.
Matthew George
An RWCMD and NYBBW alum, Matt has played in brass bands for over 35 years, starting out with British Steel as a teenager, before a long association with Penclawdd, and during college Lewis Merthyr. No stranger to Championship banding, Matt has also done a stint with Black Dyke. Matt has been encouraging the next generation of players as a teacher with RCT for over 20 years, and has worked with regional and national youth ensembles , and is excited to now be joining The Parc & Dare Band.
Lee Blankley
Originally from Leicestershire, where he played for a number of bands including Enderby, Ratby and Ransom bands. Lee moved to South Wales in 2018, and continued his banding by joining The Usk Band on principal Eb, during which time saw the band progress from 3rd to 1st section and reaching 3 national finals along the way. Lee is thrilled to be joining Parc & Dare Band having already been part of the prize winning team recently at Wychavon.
